Lumen scans your disk and paints every folder by what it holds. The space hogs jump out at a glance. Click in, find the culprit, move it to the Trash, and undo if you change your mind.
Lumen does one job and does it beautifully: show you exactly where your space went, then help you clear it without fear.
Your disk as a sunburst. The inner ring is each category, and every ring outward goes one folder deeper. Big arcs are big problems.
The same scan as a treemap, every folder a tile sized by what it uses on disk. Better for comparing many things side by side.
Move anything to the Trash from the map, the list or the right-click menu. It goes to the real macOS Trash, and Undo puts it right back.
Rings grow live as files are counted, so you start seeing the answer within seconds instead of waiting on a progress bar.
One scanner per CPU core. In testing Lumen read 5.3 million files in under two and a half minutes.
Sizes are real space on disk, with hard links counted once, so the numbers agree with Get Info.
iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive are skipped by default. Turn them on in Settings to count the files kept on your Mac. Online-only files are never downloaded.
The inspector lists the biggest files under wherever you are, with Reveal in Finder, Copy Path and Open one click away.
Your startup disk, external drives, network shares and Time Machine backups all appear under Locations.
Drop a folder on Lumen, or on its Dock icon, to scan just that.
Gather files from all over the map, then move them to the Trash in one go. One Undo brings them all back.
Purgeable space, local snapshots included, gets its own slice apart from System Data, and the free-space figure shows how much macOS can reclaim. Now you can see why Finder and your disk disagree.
Some folders stay locked even with Full Disk Access. Enter your admin password and Lumen measures them too, read-only, so nothing is left as a mystery.
Press Space to preview any file before you decide to bin it.
Lumen speaks English, French, German, Spanish and Japanese, and follows your Mac’s language.
No account and no tracking. Your file list never leaves your Mac.
Built in Swift for macOS. It opens instantly, follows the system, and feels like it belongs there.
Battery health, Trash size and memory pressure, in the same sidebar as your disks.
Every kind of file has its own colour family, set in OKLCH so each one feels equally bright. Deeper folders turn lighter and calmer, so you can read depth without a single label.
No subscription and no account. Try everything free for 14 days, then buy a licence key if Lumen earned its place on your Mac.
macOS hides some folders, such as Mail and Messages, from every app until you allow it. Without access Lumen still works, and those folders show as locked. With it, you see everything, and the totals match your disk.
Lumen never deletes anything. It moves items to the macOS Trash, and you can undo straight away or put them back from the Trash later. System files can't be trashed from Lumen at all.
Finder's “available” figure includes purgeable space and local snapshots that macOS can free on its own. Lumen shows that purgeable space as its own slice, next to real free space, so you can see where the difference comes from.
Not unless you ask. By default Lumen skips iCloud Drive, Dropbox, Google Drive and OneDrive. Turn on Include cloud folders in Settings to count the files stored on your Mac. Online-only files are always skipped, so a scan never starts gigabytes of downloads.
Scanning and moving items to the Trash need a licence key. Buy one any time, paste it into Lumen, and you're set. One key works on two Macs.
